Gold was discovered in 1894 and Pearce was born, and it still lives. The pictures below are of old Pearce which many consider a ghost town, even though the people who still live there may dispute the term. The circular drive from Tombstone through, Gleeson, Courtland, Pearce, returning to Tombstone is very beautiful and full of history.
