Crown King:
Gold mining began around 1870. Post Office discontinued 1954. A few buildings remain for the hardy tourists that endure the 35 mile drive over dirt roads. West off I-17 on Crown King Road (21 miles south of highway 69), or south off highway 89 in Prescot, AZ on S. Mt. Vernon, then south on S. Senator to Crown King. You will need the saloon to get the dust out of your throat, but the drive is beautiful.
